ChromaLuxe, a leading brand of print media, is offering a scholarship through the Lucie Foundation in support of Fine Art Photographers.

This scholarship is open to both emerging and established artists.

International Seminar and Exhibition

 

The Photography and Imaging Department is participating in an international seminar on art education. As part of the seminar, teachers and students at schools around the world will collaborate to produce projects and share their experiences through a seminar and exhibition in Seoul, South Korea.

Participating schools include ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena; Zurich University of the Arts, Zurich; Parsons, NY; Chung-Ang University, Seoul; Baptist University, Hong Kong.

  • Please provide a <500-word essay on the ideas and capabilities you bring to a collaboration and how they might integrate into a collaborative environment. 

  • Please submit 10-15 images that exhibit your creative point of view.

  • Images should be in .jpg format and 2000px on the longest side.

  • Additionally, one piece of motion content is permitted, please submit in HD, .mp4 format

  • Still and motion content should be uploaded to an ftp site like DropBox. 

The written essay and a link to the files should be emailed to Kellie.Walker@Artcenter.edu by June 3rd, 2019. 

All work produced for this project will be extracurricular.

Kodak Film Photo Award

The Film Photo Award offers two award cycles per year, each providing three distinct grants of Kodak Professional Film to photographers who demonstrate a serious commitment to the field and are motivated to continue the development of still, film-based photography in the 21st century.

The Film Photo Award is open to all emerging, established, and student photographers worldwide, 18 years old or older.

During each spring and fall award cycle, 3 film grants will be awarded: New Project Award, Continuing Project Award, and Student Project Award.

COASC: 5th Annual National Photography Competition

The Council on Aging - Southern California invites all professional and amateur photographers, 18 years and over to share their visions and unique interpretations of the aging experience.

Submissions may characterize what a long life means to you, from thriving lifestyles to the harsher realities of aging. Selected photographs will be displayed online and at special showings including the Bowers Museum July 23 - August 4, 2019 and the Newport Beach Public Central Library August 2019. 

Submit by May 4, 2019 at 5:00 pm Pacific Time (PT).

BoldPas - Artist Call for Submissions

Save the date! Old Pasadena Management District announces the third annual BoldPas: A Day of Art & Play in Old Pasadena, scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2019 in the commercial and historic heart of Pasadena, California – Old Pasadena.

The free, one-day event encourages the community to experience art in myriad ways within the district’s unique downtown alleyways and public spaces. The selected temporary art installations are bold – in color, scale, materials, and concept. Many of them incorporate a component of interactivity – come play with the art!  

The 2019 Call for Submissions has been released. Artists in the greater Los Angeles area are encouraged to submit proposals by March 15, 2019 for consideration; six of the 12 event installations will be selected from this call. Find the Call for Submissions, photos, inspiration boards, and more on the event website: www.oldpasadena.org/boldpas.

 

Hahnemühle's International Student Photo Competition

Hahnemühle is happy to announce their first photo competition which is specially designed for photography students. No matter what their individual style and focus is, all enrolled photography students have the chance to take part and submit a series of five images. The choice of theme is left entirely up to the student.

HOW TO TAKE PART

It’s easy to take part with our upload portal on www.hahnemuehle.com/photocompetition

Students just need to upload their photo series, fill out all the required information, accept the terms and conditions and submit.

Submission period starts 1 March 2019 and ends 30 April 2019.

What to Enter
Any photograph first published or produced from March 2018 through March 2019 is eligible. Entries may originate from any country. Explanation of the function in English is very important to the judges. Submission of entries acknowledges the right of Communication Arts to use them for publication and exhibition. You retain all rights to your images. If selected, you will need to grant us the right to reproduce the image or images for our online, digital and print-based publication.
