Magnum Foundation is accepting applications for the Inge Morath Award, a $5,000 grant given to a female photographer under the age of 30 to support the completion of a long-term documentary project. One finalist will also receive a $1,000 grant in support of their project.

The recipient and finalist are selected by a jury composed of Magnum photographers, the Executive Director of the Magnum Foundation, and the Inge Morath Estate.

Red Bull Illume Image Quest 2021 is in its sixth edition bringing together the amazing work of photographers and content creators from around the world. Choose from 9 categories; Creative, Emerging, Energy by RedBull, Innovation, Lifestyle, Masterpiece, Playground, Photo Story, and Raw by Leica.

A judging panel of 50 photo editors and digital experts will select the Finalists, Category Winners and 1 Overall Winner, to be unveiled at the Winner Award Ceremony in November 2021.

In 2022, all finalist images will be presented around the globe providing an unprecedented level of exposure.

Call for Submission - The Lucie Foundation: The Guardian Project

The Lucie Foundation is proud to announce the Guardian Project, an open call supporting Pathshala/South Asian Media institute.

The Lucie Foundation will be donating 50% of the profits received to support the ongoing efforts of their educational programs in photography, film and multimedia journalism. Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Pathshala /South Asian Media institute targets promising young photographers of the region.

Though an initial quota has been kept for women and people from marginalized communities, in the long run, Pathshala will only cater to the most promising talent regardless of class and gender. The idea is to take young professionals who, with the right guidance and opportunities, can break into the highest echelons of the international photographic industry and tell their stories to the world.

The Pathshala/ South Asian Media Institute was founded by photographer and activist Shahidul Alam, who received The Lucie Humanitarian Award in 2018.

The Call for submission is for Documentary Photography and Photojournalism, with categories that include; nature, people/portraits, street photography, contemporary news, and photo series.

Against The Grain Scholarship

Each year, ATG proudly awards scholarships to a select group of amazing Asian American high school seniors, college undergraduate and graduate school students through our Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship and Groundbreaker Leadership Scholarship. We have proudly awarded more than 55 scholarships and more than $75,000 since 2011.

A panel of judges selects scholarship finalists and winners based on the combined strength of their GPA, community involvement and leadership, personal essay, portfolio and/or video submission and personal interview, representing the spirit of Against The Grain Productions.

Greater Than Gatsby Annual Scholarship

Established by Greater Than Gatsby as part of a new initiative to establish a channel of support for the next generation, the Greater Than Gatsby Annual Scholarship supports the future of visual art and content creators. Greater Than Gatsby was born in 2012. Today, we are one of the leading creators worldwide of Innovative, professional and high-quality and Lightroom Presets and Photoshop Actions. Three recipients will receive $1,000 USD each to be used to help pay their tuition and academic expenses to an accredited college/university or vocational/technical school in the United States.

Ebell/Flint Scholarship Program

For the past 100 years, dedicated students in need of monetary assistance who live and attend school in the county of Los Angeles have had the support of the Ebell/Flint Scholarship Fund. Endowed by far-sighted women who valued education and knew that students often required a helping hand, the Ebell/Flint Scholarship Fund was established for undergraduates who have completed their first year of studies. Scholarships range from $3,000 per year for two-year community college students to $5,000 per year for students attending a four-year university. Scholarships continue for a maximum of three years while the student is enrolled as an undergraduate and maintains Ebell eligibility requirements.

The Ebell/Flint Scholarship is open to male and female undergraduate students of any major who currently attend private or public colleges or universities in Los Angeles County. Scholar recipients are chosen based on financial need, academic achievement, and community service/leadership. To date, over 4,750 scholars have been helped on their academic journeys totaling over 6 million dollars. There is no fee to apply.

In support of research and development for a new core exhibition, the National Parks Service Japanese American Confinement Sites-funded collections digitization grant, and ongoing work to document the permanent collection, JANM Collections Management & Access department (CMA) seeks a digitization specialist to advance digitization and make the digital assets and accompanying metadata available in TMS Collections as well as through eMuseum, JANM’s web-publishing platform. Position is temporary with funding through 6/30/2024.
