Led by Community Partners, Bridges to Inclusion facilitators, Drs Kimberly Austin and Sofia Vergara, in collaboration with Human Resources. With the emergence of Covid-19, our new virtual work and learning places have given our mobility-challenged community more access to programming, events and education than ever before, but how is it effecting our neurodiverse and learning-disabled community? We will learn this and more in this 2.5 hour workshop for staff, faculty and students.

The (identical) workshop sessions will cover:

· Disability Awareness

· Defining terms

· Categories

· Medical/social Models

· Disability Rights Movement

· Etiquette

· Challenges in Remote Learning for the Student and Faculty

· Best Practices for Supporting Students in Remote Learning

· Introduction to Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

· Specific Strategies

The sessions will include a Q & A as well as use of chat function for immediate questions.

Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs prior to the event. Workshop will be close-captioned, recorded, and presentation slides will be distributed to attendees following the event.

Registered attendees will receive zoom link by email.
