As Senior Photo Editor, you will be responsible for managing original visual assets for Dotdash’s product testing initiatives, from pre- through post-production. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Acting as quality control for all photos that accompany commerce content, from providing on-set photo direction to assessing and providing direction to our at-home testers / shooters, across all Dotdash brands; working with the Director of Production, the Visual Assets Team and with in-house editors and Photographer on identifying and executing product shot lists; and supporting the art direction of all shoots to ensure we’re highlighting the best features/aspects in our composition. The other part of this role is helping manage post-production processes, schedules and deliverables, including collaborating with in-house teams and freelancers.
About Your Contributions:
Create shot lists based on the required visual assets for each product test and ensuring these are captured during each test / shoot.
Provide art direction on set for each shoot to make sure the brand’s vision is achieved, review photo tests and provide photo feedback to freelancer testers on an as-needed basis.
Collaborate with the Commerce, Production, and Editorial teams to uphold the visual identities for all brands, including updating/maintaining style and photo guidelines for lab and at-home testing photography and product testing.
Work with the photographer(s) and appropriate editors after each shoot to make selects, ensuring delivery of visual assets that bring our products to life and show our testing process to instill reader trust.
Review all visual assets in workflow management tools, adhering to and facilitating the usage of guidelines and templates.
About You:
5-7 years experience photo production, and/or photo editing for multiple brands (focus on commerce & product photography is a plus)
Good eye for high quality product photography that will help elevate our brand and tell our story.
Ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom skills a plus
