Job Description
PHOTOGRAPHER
Join the Creative Services team as Brand Photographer and contribute by delivering beautiful and inspiring lifestyle & product imagery. You should be driven to create visual content that makes it easy for our customers to decorate, host/entertain and gift with confidence. You will do this by creating photographic assets and content for seasonal lookbooks, emails, social media and catalogs. The Brand Photographer will align with seasonal photographic initiatives and collaborate with Art Directors to create foundational brand “look and feel” level photographic assets for use in campaign collateral and “product information page (PIP)” imagery. You’d be a perfect fit for this role if you want to create seasonally relevant content imagery that can drive purchase confidence for our website guests. You should be highly creative, energetic, ambitious, and driven to bring value to the Creative Services team. You have strong visual skills with attention to detail and an eye for consistency. You must be a team player, a strong communicator and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute digital photography, as assigned on a seasonal basis, that supports key photographic initiatives set by the Creative Director and Vice President of Creative Services
Maintain visual brand objectives and follow defined photo directives for seasonal campaign still-life assets, product collection assets, room-based assets, and “Best-in-Class” PIP photography assets.
Work both collaboratively and proactively with on-site and remote creative teams to understand specific brand art direction and help to influence the photographic “look and feel” of a season.
Take creative direction from VP/Directors as well as work independently
Set-up lighting and composition, ensuring products are represented accurately, and in line with Brand guidelines
Ensure the product is accurately represented. Adjust the shot list and lighting as needed to capture details and the full look and feel of the product
Maintain exposure and color accuracy standards while producing a high volume of images
Perform quality assurance and feedback on images as necessary
Partner with assistants, stylists, and other production team members to ensure photography needs are met and all are aligned on achieving final creative goals
Partner with Producers and Creative Director on the daily/weekly shot list to group similar type shots together to maximize efficiencies when applicable
Partner with our in-house Digital Retoucher to ensure images are moving through color correction workflow and partner with the Digital Tech on the organization of digital files to ensure integrity and accessibility - follow procedures for naming, saving and archiving images
Develop a system to store and maintain all PB photo and lighting equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Formal photography education: a four-year degree is preferable in any of the following concentrations: Communication Arts, Photography, Fine Arts
A digital portfolio of original and commercial work
Strong demonstrated creative eye, sense of design in all applications of the photographic image, especially as it related to editorial and consumer applications
Proficiency with all studio tools, lighting, technical software and system
Experienced professional who stays current with photography trends, lighting, technical advances and changing creative tastes.
Familiarity with all aspects of digital image quality and output. File size, light and color balancing, Adobe Creative Suite especially PhotoShop
