Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship Fund

The Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship Fund was created by the Will of the late Mabel Wilson Richards and by a court decree construing it. By the terms of that Will, the income from the trust assets may be used only to provide financial assistance for the education of worthy and needy girls who reside in the city of Los Angeles, California, or in one of the cities described in the attached link. No student shall consider that this scholarship is granted until formal reply is made by the trustees following the recommendation made by the college.

AIGA Worldstudio Scholarship

AIGA Worldstudio Scholarship awarded in amounts of $2,500–$3,000. One or two top awards may be given in an amount up to $5,000 at the jury’s discretion. Honorable mention prizes in the amount of $500 cash are also awarded. A one-year AIGA membership is also awarded to recipients.

As Senior Photo Editor, you will be responsible for managing original visual assets for Dotdash’s product testing initiatives, from pre- through post-production. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Acting as quality control for all photos that accompany commerce content, from providing on-set photo direction to assessing and providing direction to our at-home testers / shooters, across all Dotdash brands; working with the Director of Production, the Visual Assets Team and with in-house editors and Photographer on identifying and executing product shot lists; and supporting the art direction of all shoots to ensure we’re highlighting the best features/aspects in our composition. The other part of this role is helping manage post-production processes, schedules and deliverables, including collaborating with in-house teams and freelancers.

About Your Contributions:

• Create shot lists based on the required visual assets for each product test and ensuring these are captured during each test / shoot.

• Provide art direction on set for each shoot to make sure the brand’s vision is achieved, review photo tests and provide photo feedback to freelancer testers on an as-needed basis.

• Collaborate with the Commerce, Production, and Editorial teams to uphold the visual identities for all brands, including updating/maintaining style and photo guidelines for lab and at-home testing photography and product testing.

• Work with the photographer(s) and appropriate editors after each shoot to make selects, ensuring delivery of visual assets that bring our products to life and show our testing process to instill reader trust.

• Review all visual assets in workflow management tools, adhering to and facilitating the usage of guidelines and templates.

About You:

• 5-7 years experience photo production, and/or photo editing for multiple brands (focus on commerce & product photography is a plus)

• Good eye for high quality product photography that will help elevate our brand and tell our story.

• Ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

• Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom skills a plus

About the Role:

Dotdash Meredith is looking for freelance food photographers with a strong culinary background to remotely cook, style, and shoot recipes to support Spruce Eats, Simply Recipes, and Serious Eats.  Recipe photography includes method/process as well as the finished recipe. We are looking for a wide variety of diverse cuisines to be photographed and are open to photographers who are experts in specialized cuisine. You will be working out of your own home/studio.

About Your Contributions:

• Photograph/style finished recipe, as well as various stages of the cooking process for each recipe from start to finished product in accordance with style guide

• Determine and use appropriate lighting, composition, background, and equipment (as well as any additional specifications) to ensure quality shooting in accordance with the style guide

• Gather fresh, photogenic ingredients and cook using appropriate props, technique, and equipment as provided in the photo brief.

• Follow direction from and collaborate with Photo Director to work efficiently and meet project deadlines

• Edit and retouch photos

About You:

• 3+ years of professional experience with food photography, food styling, and retouching

• Extensive knowledge of lighting food, both naturally and artificially

• Intermediate/advanced home cooking experience preferred

• Access to, and proficiency with Photoshop, Lightroom

• A portfolio of food photography that demonstrates the above knowledge

• Ability to work well independently

• Interest in photographing a wide variety of different foods preferred 

Payment:

Payment for the test is a fixed price of $200. The rate of work thereafter is determined by the recipe complexity. Any freelancer fees incurred by the Upwork platform will be covered.

KEYE TV is looking for a creative and dedicated full-time Lifestyle Show Editor/Videographer! We are seeking someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories. The candidate should have two years of experience. You will cover day to day general editing for the Lifestyle Show, live shots during the show and feature long form pieces. We are shooting full High-definition (HD) on media cards and editing on desktops and laptops. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A passion for story telling is absolutely essential in this position.

Requirements:

• Must be an aggressive team-player who can produce good creative stories under tight deadlines

• Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record

• At least two (2) years of shooting and editing experience. Additionally, technical knowledge of editing and camera/lighting/audio equipment

• Experience with Avid Media Composer preferred

• Ability to edit and shoot general lifestyle stories, lives shots and natural sound packages
