The Photography Associate supports the day-to-day operations of a busy photo studio. This includes technical support, overseeing equipment photographers use daily, as well as understanding lighting set-up, on set trouble shooting and efficiencies.
It is fast-paced and creative as well as collaborative and innovative.
Responsibilities
Provide photo technical support to a team of photographers
Manage photo and digital equipment
Assists in file preparation, uploading, and archiving
Maintain organization and upkeep of onset equipment
Keep inventory of equipment currently used within the studio
Research and recommend expendables and equipment
Set-up and break down of photo sets and lighting in studio and on location
Ability to light and shoot lifestyle environments and product photography in studio
Maintains relationships with internal team, art directors, talent, stylists, hair/makeup artists, and assistants, etc
Light in studio sets according to match existing photography
Skills & Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years full-time studio experience
Proficient with DSLR
Working knowledge of Strobe and Constant light sources and modifier usage
Understand and can troubleshoot current photo software; Capture One, Photoshop.
Digital Tech experience a plus
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of set building & studio safety
Ability to problem solve independently, as well as guide team members
Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds of equipment and supplies
Visual acuity to see close-up, distance, color, periphery and depth
Proactive and positive nature and influence in the studio
Able to quickly prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Available to travel out-of-state and overnight
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of metadata and archiving processes.
